Away We Go

Well hello there,

Liverpool FC gets into your blood. I've been an LFC supporter my entire life. At least the portion that I remember. By that I don't mean I have gaps in my memory as an adult due to the consumption of too much of this or that. I mean that the wearing of Liverpool gear as an infant, while in hindsight was more than fine with me, was not at the time my choice.

My parents left Liverpool for Canada in 1971. Since I was 2 and a half at the time I had no say in the departure.
My father stood on the Kop in the 60's. I am very jealous of this. Sometimes I think a good portion of the reason we came to Canada was so that he'd always have that over me.

Over the last 10 years or so following the Reds from Toronto (although I've been back to Liverpool for games a couple of times. My last Anfield game was the final game of 03-04, bye bye Houllier, Owen, Heskey etc) has become easier and easier. Satellite TV, sports networks, and the internet allow us on this side of the pond to see just about any game we'd like. While those of us watching from the pub, or couch, may miss overlaps, fouls off the ball, or a defensive midfielder covering every bade of grass that the match going supporter sees, I think we have the right to voice our opinions on those games, as well as on the state affairs as we see it with our club.

That's what I'll attempt to do with this blog. I have strong opinions when it comes to LFC. I'm sure any supporter out there feels the same way. If you agree with my opinions let me know. If you don't then let me kniow that too. Either way it'll be fun.
